YR 12 2018

YEAR 12
2018 Body of Work 1

THE  TASK
To create a unified Body of Work based on the concept 'Making a Difference', identifying and exploring ONE focus , in the student's choice of media, relating to their identified contextual framework(s).

Students selected their media in response to the concept and their focus. The Body or Work can contain one or a variety of media.

The Body of Work
The body of work provides evidence of a student's aesthetic and purpose, and sustained engagement with making and appraising over a period of extended time.

Students were asked to communicate their imagination, personal interpretations of their world & world issues and feelings as part of the process of creating artworks. Further they were asked to create work that inspires the audience to ask questions that ignite discussion and stimulate debate, possibly provoking strong responses, or contradict personal beliefs or societal values.

'Curiosity, openness, and dialogue are the most important tools for engaging with works of art. Instead of questioning whether an artwork is good or bad, the study of contemporary art requires an open-ended methodology and an inquiry-based approach'.

Artistic projects of all kinds are so much a part of the fabric of our society/culture and continue to be tremendously inspirational, carrying a strong message and having the ability to resonate with large audiences no matter what the medium.
